Growing Organic Cucumbers

How do I prepare my garden for the winter…or, how do I put my garden to bed?
I live in the south suburbs of Chicago. I have two raised gardens, both are 10′ x 7′. I had onions, tomatoes, peppers, squash, lettuce and cucumbers…100% organic. I’m now ready to close up growing for the year. This is my first year with a garden, went great btw, so what do I do now? Remove the plants and just let it be? Or do I add something to the soil (organic)? Do I cover the gardens?
Turn the plants under so they compost over the winter and provide more organic enrichment to your garden for next year. Also, if you have a lot of leaves, work them into the soil as well to provide nourishment for next year.
