Is the world as screwed as the “realists” say it is?


during my years of growing up i cant help but noticing that the american dream has started to seem more and more like an actual dream that isnt real and undoubtedly something that we must wake up from.

im only 19 years old and i could ramble on about my thoughts on resources and exponential population growth but the fundamental seed of my growing fear is the concept of sustainability; which i dont think our society is and this financial crisis is starting to seem more like an ecological crisis that many sucessful species have to face when their population explodes and they start eating each other

so am i correct in my hypothesis or am i a paranoid dumbass

I don’t know if you’re paranoid or not, but every one of the last three generations has said something just like that. We’ve had 21 recessions in the last one hundred years and have survived them all. Only one has been truly ugly — and coincidentally(?), it was the only one where the government meddled massively. Two possibly counting this one.
